All of us wanted to show our appreciation for you in a BIG way, so we gave one of our TeachersPayTeachers products! Each free gift was valued at between $3 and $8, and the total jackpot amount was over $600!
Because so many bloggers participated, this event was divided into three grade level groups. Each of those smaller events was coordinated by one blogger as shown below:
- PK - Grade 2 - April McNair on A Modern Teacher
- Grades 3 - 6 - Laura Candler (Me!) here on Corkboard Connections
- Grades 7 - 12 - Adrianne Meldrum on The Tutor House
Polygon Explorations
My free gift was Polygon Explorations. Because the Jackpot is over, this item is no longer free. I developed these materials while working with my own 5th grade class a few years ago, and my students did terrific on the geometry part of the state test that year! The cool thing about the Smartboard version is that it has a set of shapes that are exactly like the ones that the students use for their activities, and the shapes are numbered the same way as the student shapes. I hope you and your students enjoy the activities!
Look below to find links to over three dozen terrific Grade 3-6 blogs! We appreciate your commitment to your students and your dedication as an educator! Thanks so much for all you do!

Fun in Room 4B
I'm trying to download them, but I keep getting an error message. I was under the impression they would be free until midnight? Is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, and most people are leaving them free until the morning. I'm not sure what the problem is with downloading. Is it with all the free items or just mine? Email me at lauracandler@att.net and I'll send it to you if you can't get it from the TpT site. You could also try another browser.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I had a great time looking at all the different blogs and downloading the files that pertain to my content area. Did anyone else have trouble downloading? I got to blog #30 and every time I tried to download from TpT I would get an error message. Not sure why this is happening, but I tried a few different files and had the same problem. I'm guessing that TpT is overloaded with everyone trying to download before the deal is over. Again, THANK YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteGot them all to work now! Thank you again!!!!
DeleteThanks for the update! Glad you got them.
DeleteThanks for the update. Glad you got them.
DeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI am also having trouble downloading them. They keep coming up with a Bad Gateway 502 error. I have no idea what that is. I was able to download 3 things out of all the blogs. I'm not sure what the problem is.
Trish
Keep trying. I got that error, too, a few minutes ago and tried again and it went through. I just think the system is overloaded.
DeleteTHANK YOU!! This was an amazing blog hop! I really appreciate all of your hard work in organizing this! It was extra helpful to me as I will be changing grade levels next year.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I gathered all of them!
ReplyDelete~April @ ideabackpack.blogspot.com
Thank you and the other bloggers for your generous sharing, and amazing work! These are all fabulous projects, which just shows how many fantastic teachers there are out there. THANKS!!
ReplyDeleteThanks to you and all the other generous bloggers. It was exciting going from blog to blog, getting freebies, but more importantly, new blogs to read and learn from. Thanks to all of you again.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for helping put this together! I spent hours downloading well over 100 resources to use with my kiddos!

I'm so bummed that I missed this--I was REALLY looking forward to it but unfortunately, life turns on a dime. My nephew was in a bad car accident on Saturday night and was life flighted to Savannah and they had to do surgery to remove part of his skull. The 72 hours after are critical so I've been driving back and forth to Savannah to be with him (as well as my sister, her husband, and their two daughters). Thank you all for doing this and hopefully a lot of teachers were able to take advantage of it. For me, family comes first and though I'm sorry I missed it, I wouldn't have done it any different.
ReplyDeleteKrystal, I'm so sorry for what you are going through! Family always comes first and your family is in my prayers. My item is still free right now, and many others have left theirs free as well. But if you don't mind posting your email address here, I'll ask others in the Jackpot to email you their free item. What grade do you teach? If you don't want to post your real email address, set up a gmail address to use and just check it for the next week or so. We would all like to help out!
DeleteYou're AWESOME! krystalteach@gmail.com I teach 5th Grade Reading, Language, and Social Studies (though I also incorporate Science content for nonfiction when possible and assist with the LA component of the Science Fair).
DeleteYou truly have made my day. I really was looking forward to this and when I got home from Savannah (I live in Jacksonville, FL) Sunday night I was so emotionally exhausted, I didn't even open my computer.
On a lighter note (and thank you for the prayers), he is making HUGE strides and could possibly get his probe and ventilator removed in the coming days. He is still in his 72 hour window, but is doing AMAZING through the power of prayer and all of the support we've received.
I follow you on facebook, but I'm not sure if that means you can access my info, but if you can, feel free to come on over and check out the updates and pictures/videos of Garet.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
Kristin, you've got mail! Email that is! Please check because a bunch of bloggers have written to tell me that they sent you their items, and I did as well.
DeleteI woke to a mailbox full of wonderful messages of support, prayer, and kindness along with the files that they sent. My cup runneth over. THANK YOU! I am in the process of going back and opening files, but have had very little time to sit still to do it. So though it may take about a week to open them all and send messages of gratitude, I will DEFINITELY be doing it!
DeleteFound you on Pinterest and TPT! I am an ESOL Teacher and and many of the activities provide great scaffolds for ELL'S. I am looking forward to going through all of the blogs especially for 3-6th grades.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to make sure to come by to say THANK YOU!!!!! This event was very organized. You made it very easy to follow the steps in the process. You, April and Adrianne did a wonderful job. I am so happy that many teachers were able to hit the Jackpot. This does not happen very often. I was honored to be able to participate.
