I often use your poems as "mentor texts" within my classroom. Without fail, my budding poets feel some sort of connection to your poetry. It's relatable, uncomplicated, and genuine. I just wanted to share that the first time I read "This is my Rock", I literally felt a warming in my heart! I thought it was the most beautiful poem. I pictured "my rock", I pictured my own special place where I can sit and reflect. It's amazing what a few words can do for one's soul. Thank you for the incredible world of poetry you have opened up for my students! "This Is My Rock", "Every Time I Climb A Tree"," The Pickety Fence" were all favorites of ours. <br /><br />"I prefer to discover the poems I’ll share with children the old-fashioned way—in books." Such good advice! There's nothing quite like holding a book in our hands, finding our favorite poems and savoring them. diannewriteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18275009560340127068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-871736047643866747.post-57233994108020324072015-04-24T14:12:56.337-04:002015-04-24T14:12:56.337-04:00I have always enjoyed Kristine's poetry. At our Middle School Meetings this year, my fifth graders shared original and/or published poems of their choice as part of the meetings. It's been great fun for them. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
