K-2 Teacher Connection and the 3-5 Teacher Connection are virtual meeting rooms where elementary teachers can connect and collaborate with each other to share their passion for teaching. Our members discuss active engagement teaching strategies and innovative instructional approaches, and they collaborate on classroom projects like pen pals or postcard exchanges.
The Teacher Connection groups are unique in that they are not support groups, and they are not set up as places to vent about frustrations. Yes, we all experience frustrations because the teaching profession is extremely challenging. However, these teachers understand the importance of sharing ideas about what DOES work rather than complaining about what doesn't. We've found that keeping a positive focus energizes everyone!
One reason I created these groups was to be able to interact with teachers who are using and adapting my resources, and to have a place to seek feedback about new resources. I often ask members if they would like to test out my new materials, and I'm always impressed with their suggestions! I also pop into the groups from time to time to share about new freebies and resources as soon as they are available.
